Cool Previews in Firefox-see your tabs with just a mouse over

Browse faster -- Preview links and images without leaving your current page or tab. Just mouseover any link, and a separate preview window appears to show you the content. (TIP: Mouseover subsequent links while the preview window is still open!)

COOL PREVIEWS ADD ON

Upload multiple images with Gmail

Gmail now has the ability to upload multiple attachments at once, rather than one-by-one. Additionally, when you attach files, you’ll now get a progress bar indicating how long until the file is uploaded and ready to be sent.
Now, Gmail essentially works like any other service on the Web that lets you upload files. When you click “attach a file” when composing an email, you can browse your computer and select multiple files by holding down the CTRL key on Windows machines, or Cmd on Mac. Once you’re finished, Gmail starts uploading and keeps you posted on the upload status.

Dizzler Widget on this page.....The Freecorder application is fully functional, no spyware, adware or any other junk that comes with most of the freebies. I am using it right now and it is fantastic!

It is a toolbar (and I am not a fan of toolbars-but this one is good) that plants it self in either IE or Firefox...from the toolbar you can record audio, convert audio, play the audio files...listen to tv channels, search video history etc etc...

My suggestion for today..... GET IT and have a great time making music your own!

To Tekkie G's Bloggers- Ads on the Page

If you see ads on this site which are obtrusive, offensive, or otherwise please note...I am not a proponent of such things.

They are placed there sporatically and though I am in favor of the majority of them,
the few that show up and flicker off which cause offense and are crude, and foul, I in no way support or condone.

Let's try and keep the Web wholesome and useful on this site, shall we?

Java QQQ --- Should I install it?

If a program wants you to install Java just go ahead and do it....it has to do with
visuals on a webpage most often..
Java allows you to play online games, chat with people around the world, calculate your mortgage interest, and view images in 3D, just to name a few.
It can also be used to build a small application module or applet for use as part of a Web page. Applets make it possible for a Web page user to interact with the page.

Simon the Cat Wants Attention

This is what my cat does, kind of....

just watch

"Hot Spot"

MSN Messenger Info

If you don't want all the goop that comes with MSN Messenger...IE the ads etc...
here is the patch to remove the obtrusions that annoy....

A-Patch

Just an FYI- I am not a proponent of the Islam links on the A-Patch program so please
just use the patch and ignore the rest.

Softpedia guarantees that A-Patch is 100% CLEAN, which means it does not contain any form of malware, including spyware, viruses, trojans and backdoors.

How to use CCleaner

The very best FREE cleaner for your system is this one. I have used it for a few years now and it just works.

You will note when you download it that it shows your system in the toolbar...that is a great feature!

On the left side you will see the different cleaners....just go through all of them and let it clean the system thoroughly....it will not crash the machine (as some of the software out there does!)

The registry button works just great too and will rid the system of old files that can corrupt the registry and make your computer run slower and slower.

So enjoy and clean up in 2010!

An Affordable $199 Tablet for Everyone -- And It's Not From Apple

Daniel Ionescu, PC World

Jan 4, 2010 6:14 am

Just as the rumors of a pricey Apple tablet computer have reached a high-water mark, Freescale Semiconductor on Monday showcased reference designs of an affordable, lightweight tablet computer, which is set to hit the market later this year.

Freescale, which supplies the guts for this new breed of computers called smartbooks (about one third the size and volume of a typical netbook), is putting its weight behind this category with a concept of what could become everybody's tablet.

The Freescale tablet reference design (pictured above) has specifications close to what we have been hearing about the mythical Apple tablet: a 7-inch touch screen, 3-megapixel camera and various sensors such as a three-axis accelerometer and an ambient light sensor.

Next to the 512MB of RAM, up to 64GB of internal storage (microSD expansion) and a 1GHz processor, Freescale's smartbook tablet features a potentially killer spec: a $200 price tag. Next to an Android or Linux operating system, it also includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and options for a 3G modem.

The smartbook reference design is intended to run everyday-use applications such as a Web browser (with Adobe Flash support), an e-mail client, an RSS reader, social networking tools, and an office suite, among others.

So far, no one has had a chance to have a deeper look at Freescale's holy grail smartbook, but the chipmaker is planning to demonstrate the design at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) later on this week.

If manufacturers pick up on Freescale's concept, such smartbooks should show up in a store near you perhaps later on this summer, with a price point below the $200 ceiling, the chipmaker says. However, no potential vendors for this tablet design have been named.

Here are the full specs of the Freescale smartbook:

* Size: 200mm by 128mm by 14.9cm and weighing 376 grams; no need for fan or heat sink
* Processor: Freescale i.MX515 applications processor provides high performance and low power
* ARM Cortex-A8 1GHz
* OpenVG & OpenGL/ES graphics cores
* HD video decoder hardware
* Memory: 512 MB DDR2
* Display: 7-inch (1024 by 600) touch screen
* Storage: 4-64 GB internal storage; removable micro SD
* Connectivity: 3G modem (option) 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, RF4CE (option)
* Ports: USB 2.0 and USB mini (also for charging), audio in/audio out, SIM card
* Audio: speaker, microphone
* Camera: 3 Megapixel (video recording up to VGA @ 30fps)
* Battery: 1900mAh, USB charging
* Sensors: the MMA8450Q three-axis accelerometer and an ambient light sensor
* Power management IC

And while we are in tablet land, January should see another tablet design unveiled, as Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce its tablet on January 26.

Another Tip on Antivirus Protection

The reason for AVG disabling Windows Defender is because you should not have more than one antivirus running at a time!

They will conflict with each other....

Thus, run one or the other and you will be super-duper!

AVG 9 disables Windows Defender

The first sticky item should state clearly that AVG 9 disables Windows Defender and that users can do nothing about it. Furthermore, users are reporting problems caused by this action and upset and frustration too. AVG will address the isssue as a matter of urgency with the users concerns uppermost.

Windows 7 - Drivers for Mainboards

During the install of Windows 7 it will auto install all the mainboard drivers on your system for you....

very handy feature.....
however, if some of the items do not work, just put in the disc and run the software to update the drivers that don't work properly...some of the files may be missing even though it says drivers are installed properly....

Just an FYI....

Happy Computin' with Win 7!

Renaming files....a little trick!

if you cannot open a file....for whatever reason...sometimes you can right click on that file and hit "rename" and call it the file extension you want it to be....

for instance, I downloaded a Windows 7 themepak and it would not open even though
it said it was a ".rar" file....

sos, I just right clicked on that folder/file and renamed it ".rar" myself (in case those who created it didn't know what they were doing?!?!) and viola, it zipped itself up, and I could unzip it again and there were all the themepaks right where they shoulda been.....

so try this if ya get stuck....not always a guarantee but most times it works....

Back by popular demand!

I have re-embedded the Dizzler IPhone Player.....you need to set up a login though
and then you can have it play whatever you wish to listen to, whenever you want!

Very cool gadget!

Happy Mew Year!

Be sure and pet the kitty on your way outta here!
