Google Gears-grabs your stuff when offline

Install into Firefox or Internet Explorer
and this extension will grab your emails
even if you are offline and store them on your computer.
Go into your GMail settings>Offline>Click "enable offline mail for this computer"
it will see that Gears is installed and synchronize your mail with the server and download the messages to your hard drive.

How do I access my email while offline?

To get to your mail when offline, simply open a browser and type "gmail.com" into the URL bar or use the desktop shortcut.

You can send mail while offline-it will hold it and as soon as you are connected again it will transmit...same for receiving the mail....great for travellers on airplanes etc....

Try it and see if it works for your needs.

You know you've got issues if your skivvies start texting!

By Elisabeth Armstrong Moore
( I read this on CNET and thought my readers would get a real "charge" outta this one!)
SIMsystem, hailed as the world's first electronic underpants, are being rolled out across Australia's largest state--New South Wales--following what have been deemed successful trials.
Resembling its politely-named predecessor, the incontinence pad (not to be confused with the iPad), SIMsystem's new-and-improved skivvies come equipped with a sensor strip that alerts caregivers to wetness via text message or, as if the situation couldn't get any more embarrassing, over a facility's paging system. All without ever zapping one's private regions!
The above diagram really says it all. When the "event" occurs, the sensor strip is read by the close and ever-attentive SIM box, recorded in real time on the computer with which it wirelessly communicates (using ZigBee), cataloged in a bladder report that can be printed at any time,
announced via text message or pager, and finally wiped to near oblivion, though it has left its indelible, electronic mark.
It's nice to know that in the end, as sophisticated as our sensory and alert systems have become, we all still have to go, and we all still need it taken care of. Embarrassing? Absolutely. Messy? Without a doubt. Human? You bet your bottom's SIM box.
(Where is this thing called Technology leading us anyhow?)

Facebook Cleaner....more housekeeping needed!

Well, gang...here we go again....more scripts to run in Firefox to help eliminate some more of the "residue" on your Facebook page....

it works so make sure you are running Firefox browser.....
get the script HERE
install it when it comes up...restart Firefox and MEOWY- WOWEE....>>>peace and rest to all you Facebookers!

ZAC Browser for kids

This well-designed and entertaining children's Web browser has a serious purpose: to help children on the autism spectrum benefit from the educational Web sites that other kids enjoy. Nonetheless, young children who are not on the spectrum will also find this browser very entertaining--and it's free.
The program opens in full-screen mode, and the Home page is a cheerful aquarium. Icons for Television, Games, Music, Stories, and a Whiteboard line the bottom of the screen. Every section has an interactive background; Music, for example, has cute little bears holding bells. As you roll the cursor over each one, it emits a different chime. Web pages are accessible via thumbnails on each section page. One caveat: If the People CD Web site is down, ZAC Browser cannot access Web sites. The Whiteboard drawing tool is still functional, however.
John LeSieur, president and CEO of People CD, created ZAC Browser for his severely autistic grandson. He reports that the boy plays with the browser independently, and comes away from his sessions calm and refreshed. LeSieur has made ZAC Browser available to other families in the hope that their children will enjoy the same benefits.
Children affected by pervasive developmental disorders like autism and Asperger syndrome face a wide range of challenges. ZAC Browser is graphically oriented and easy to use, with a variety of entry points and ways to use the program. The sites it links to include favorites like Boowah and Kwalla, Sesame Street, PBS Kids, and more.
In addition to the browser, parents get access to The Autism News, an information-packed site that includes a discussion forum.

Facebook/Farmville Privacy? Yeah, right...check this out..

Facebook has become an Internet phenomenon and a primary method of daily communication for millions of people. It’s become an amazing one-to-one-to-many communication system that continues to grow in popularity.

Of the 400 million people that have a Facebook account, over 83 million are active users of Farmville which is why even if you don’t play the game, you’re going to get pelted with updates from your friends.

What many users of third-party Facebook applications (such as Farmville, CafĂ© World, and Mafia Wars) don’t realize is that they are giving up their profile information in exchange for access to the game.

And they aren’t just giving up access of their profile info to the Farmville game maker, but also to all of their advertising ‘affiliates.’

Depending upon how your privacy settings are configured, your game playing friends can even allow these third-party companies to access your profile info even if you aren’t playing the game.

Facebook constantly updates its system
(much to the dismay of many) but the upside is that they continue to
add tools that help us manage the traffic and our privacy on our own pages.

If you simply want to hide Farmville posts from your ‘News Feed’ (generally the default page when you sign on to Facebook), the next time you get a Farmville update in your stream, float your mouse over the right corn of the post and click on ‘Hide.’

This should bring up three options: Hide (Username), Hide Farmville, and Cancel.

If you click on ‘Hide (Username),’ then nothing from that use will ever appear in your News Stream (but they can still manually post comments on your wall).

If you click on ‘Hide Farmville,’ you will not see any updates from this user or any other user that is playing Farmville in your News Feeds any longer. (This works with any posting that comes from third-party applications; Causes, Birthday Cards, etc.)

Additionally, If you want to globally block Farmville as an application to your profile so that you no longer get Farmville invitations, go to www.facebook.com/farmville and click on the ‘Block Application’ link below the Farmville logo on the left side.

You can repeat this for any Facebook application by simply putting the name of the app in the Search bar and finding the page associated with the
application.

Most of your friends probably don’t realize that they can share your profile information to third-party applications even if you are not using the application or the game.

You can control what they can share about you by clicking on Account (in the upper right hand corner), then on Privacy Settings/Applications and Web sites then on the Edit Setting button for ‘What your friends can share about you.’

Remove the checkmark for any of your profile information that you do not want shared via your friends to applications and Web sites, but remember that anything that is available via your public profile can be readily accessed by third party applications and Web sites at any time.

If you want to see what information is available via your public profile, go back to the Privacy Settings screen, then click on Profile Information. You will see a list of items that are contained in your profile with buttons to the right with four options: Everyone, Friends of Friends, Only Friends, and Customize.
The first three are pretty obvious, but the Customize option allows you to choose one of the three previous settings and then manually hide the item from specific people.

Finally, be sure to click on the Preview My Profile button at the top right to double-check what the general Facebook public (and third-party applications) can see on your profile without being your friend first.
