Bogus Antiviruses.....beware of these scams!

Antivirus the virus basically describes poser antivirus programs that don’t eliminate viruses, but actually do the opposite. Scammers and hackers create viruses and malware, and disguise them as antivirus programs. Here is an example.

Win 7 Anti-Spyware 2011 is a pig wearing lipstick. Once installed, it acts just like an antivirus program. However, the 31 infections found in the above screenshot are completely false. Win 7 is actually the infection.
The best way to avoid Antivirus viruses is to simply do your research ahead of time. Search for reviews before downloading any antivirus program.
Quick tip: Real recognize real, but real also recognize fake. An effective real antivirus program can remove a fake antivirus program, just like other malware. Try using portable versions of real antivirus programs, such as SuperAntiSpyware portable edition, to eliminate the posers.
